WHY I MADE THIS FILM
"I entered this story as a skeptic.
A man told me that Indigenous elders believed he had a role in a prophecy concerning the Amazon and the future of the world. The story sounded almost impossible, but something compelled me to follow it.
What began as an investigation became a journey across cultures, belief systems and radically different ways of seeing reality. I found myself asking questions that run through all of my work: Who and what do we believe? What truths do we dismiss? Can people with completely different worldviews truly understand one another?
At its heart, The Man Who Saves the World? is about connection - to nature, to other people and to possibilities larger than ourselves.
